SMART BUSINESS SERIES - NEVER STOP LEARNING


Success in business, growth in business and dominance in business cannot be separated from the art of continuous learning. Many people start a business with a clear picture and understanding of what they want to sell, who they want to sell to and how they want to sell to them. Their understanding of course would help them get off on a right note, but based on the fact that life and of course the market and people are dynamic, the knowledge that worked and won yesterday may fail woefully today.

Too many business people depend more on experience than research and market intelligence to grow. Experience is good and important, but it may not work perfectly if the context of today's market and customers are not considered and prioritised. Every business failure is an ignorance problem – ignorance of how to sell, what to sell, how to price, how to distribute, how to communicate and how to be better than competition. If you don't learn about the market of today, if you don't research into the behaviour of today's customer, if you lean solely on your yesterday's understanding of the market and the customer, I'm afraid you will not have the right answers to today's business challenges; hence you will not grow. Dear friend, don't stop learning, don't disdain research, understand your market, understand your product, understand your customer, and innovate as necessary.
